| Dangerous Excess of Human Knowledge |
| In the new works by W.B. Fontenot, “A Dangerous Excess of Human Knowledge” Fontenots inspiration derives from the dystopias of authors such as George Orwell and Aldous Huxley. Fontenot creates a parallel universe that mocks our own digital obsession and increased consumption, creating characters that echo the imagery and themes of “1984” and “A Brave New World” as well as other dystopian worlds. The works challenge us to look at our own societies narcissistic underpinnings in an ironic and sometimes humorous fashion, showing the disconnect that we as a civilization are slowly becoming a part of. |
